Our story
ColorCrew was founded in 1993 by Ingrid Burger, a pioneer with a passion for beauty, marketing and the customer experience. What began as a small office has grown into a household name in the world of cosmetics and retail. For over thirty years, we have been providing the best talent for the most prestigious brands and have become a trusted partner for brands that prioritise the customer experience.
Our team is at the heart of that success: over 450 professionals, carefully selected and trained through our own ColorCrew Academy. There, they learn everything about perfume, skincare and make-up, as well as style, service and storytelling: qualities that bring brands to life on the shop floor and at events.
What began as a beauty specialist has since grown into a full-service agency specialising in beauty, fashion and luxury. From Groningen to Brussels, brands such as Chanel, Dior, Estée Lauder, L’Oréal, Sol de Janeiro and Skins Cosmetics rely on our professionals. De Bijenkorf has also been working with us for years, a partnership built on quality, service and trust. As the market leader in the Netherlands and the only full-service agency operating in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, we continue to grow every day in terms of people and brands.
The people behind the growth
Today, ColorCrew is led by Pierre Meij and Chris Reijers, whilst Ingrid Burger remains involved as an Educator and Director of the ColorCrew Foundation. Together, they are building on the strong foundations laid by Ingrid Burger. They maintain the same focus on people, brands and experience, but bring a fresh perspective on growth and innovation.
Pierre is a familiar face in the world of beauty and fashion. He knows the market, the brands and the people like no other. With his experience and eye for detail, he ensures that the right people are in the right place, day in, day out. His knowledge, energy and sense of humour make him the beating heart of the operation.
Chris focuses on innovation, strategy and international growth. Under his leadership, ColorCrew expanded into Belgium and the fashion industry, where the customer experience is just as important as sales. He is building for the future through new services, digitalisation, new markets and the development of new talent.
Together with a dedicated team of planners, account managers and trainers, they ensure that everything runs smoothly: from recruitment to execution, and from pop-up events to high-profile events. We are known for our reliability, speed and solution-oriented approach: whether it’s a long-term partnership or a last-minute request, we ensure the highest standards of quality.

Training, development and career progression
At ColorCrew, we believe that quality starts with the right preparation. That’s why we set up the ColorCrew Academy: our own training programme in which every crew member develops the knowledge, skills and mindset needed to excel in beauty, fashion and luxury.
Our Academy offers comprehensive training programmes for Perfume Ambassadors, High Fashion Advisors, Skincare Experts, Make-up Artists and Hospitality staff. The training goes beyond mere product knowledge: we focus on presentation, service and the art of hospitality. We also provide training in upselling, cross-selling and luxury retail, ensuring our team is always fully prepared for their work.
No one is sent out onto the floor without proper training. New crew members undergo an average of more than six hours of training before they are deployed. This ensures that our customers work with professionals who understand their brand, and that our staff continue to develop their skills.
The training sessions are led by master trainer Steven Jans, alongside inspiring guest speakers from the industry. New training sessions are scheduled every week, so that we continue to invest in growth and quality. For our people, our clients and the brands we work for.
Doing good is part of what we do
At ColorCrew, it’s not just about great brands and a strong team, but also about making an impact beyond our own field. That’s why we set up the ColorCrew Foundation.
Our foundation supports projects that promote equal opportunities for girls and women worldwide. For example, we support Padmad Kenya, an initiative that provides reusable menstrual products to girls in Africa. In many regions, they are unable to attend school during their periods, causing them to miss out on education. Thanks to these products, they can continue to attend lessons, which directly leads to more opportunities and a better future. Through our donations, we have now helped over 300 girls access sustainable products and equal educational opportunities.
Our commitment doesn’t stop at the Foundation. Our crew also plays its part through the ColorPoints programme: staff can donate their saved points and ColorCrew doubles every donation, so that together we can make an even bigger difference.
In an industry where over 95% of our workforce are women, this feels like a worthwhile and natural goal. Because for us, creating opportunities goes beyond the workplace alone.
Our markets and growth
We have been operating in the Netherlands for over 30 years, and since 2023 we have also been active in Belgium and Luxembourg; in 2025, we will be launching our operations in Germany. Find out here where we operate and what services we offer in each country.
